#WeekendWin… Wedding Time!
So my #weekendwin was this beautiful wedding celebration spent with my family. Our cousin got married…she was literally the most stunning bride I’ve ever seen. Out of the magazines, out of celeb weddings, this beautiful girl was simply radiant and shining all evening long. She was enjoying herself and her special day, and the love between her and her new husband was so evident. Every now and then, I love a good real life reminder that there are healthy relationships that blossom so beautifully. Sadly, we live in a world that sometimes has a messed up view of relationships and a skewed perception and understanding of what marriage is.
It had been a long week for me. I felt like I didn’t have enough time in the days to accomplish the necessary tasks, not enough rest, and on top of that, the random heat we’re getting is starting to affect me, and I was starting to get a migraine early afternoon. I took a little med, got to the wedding, and guess what? The second Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” starting playing as the bride walked down the aisle, everything was right with the world, and my pain floated away.
It’s been 2 years since there’s been a wedding in my life and everything about this one was a breath of fresh air for me. I was relaxed, I was laughing, I got to see people I hadn’t seen in years. And most importantly, I got to celebrate two beautiful people as they entered a new chapter of their lives together. The only thing missing was the kiddos. My Godson and his brothers are at that age where they would’ve had a blast at that fabulous Italian wedding, dancing the Tarantella with all of us. They’re gonna Tarantella the night away at my wedding someday… and dance the night away with me too. Know what else what awesome about the evening? Everyone looked adorbs! My family was decked out and #FancyTime, and I think we actually won for having the most family members dressed in all black… what can I say, it IS the most versatile and awesome color. And the most slimming 😉
We live in a crazy world, so the one thing I will say, is to keep the theme of LOVE present in your lives always. Whether it’s your spouse, significant other, kiddo, parent, friend, and yesssss even your doggies, keep love alive. But most importantly, make sure you love yourself. 🙂
